Vearly Carl Evans Jr. Obituary (1969 - 2020)

Vearly Carl Evans, Jr., (50 years old), was called to his heavenly home after a lengthy illness on February 10, 2020 at Mainland Medical Center Hospital. Carl was born in Galveston, Texas. He was the son of Vearly Carl Evans, Sr. and Gwendolyn Evans. He graduated from LaMarque High School in 1988. Following his graduation from high school, Carl joined the United States Army. Following his service with the United States Army, he was employed with the City of Galveston. He was a member of Greater Saint Matthews Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and gaming. He will be remembered for his contagious laugh, and special love for family. He is survived by his parents; Vearly Carl Evans, Sr. and Gwendolyn Evans; daughters, DyaShae-Vonya Brodnex and Allynah Evans; brother, Jerome Curtis Evans; grandmother, Melba L. Brown; Aunts; Great Aunt Sallie Mae Charles, Beatrice Stephens, and Lillian Golbert; Lisa York-Williams (Chris), Clois Germany, Senora Black, Patti Mason (Eddie) and Sandra Kelley (Lealand). Uncles: Great Uncle Leroy Stephens and Carl King; Michael Evans, Sr. and Booker T. Brown, Jr. (Ivy) and Howard Amos along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Lena Mae York; Grandfathers, Curtis Evans and Booker T. Brown, Sr.; Uncles, Charles York and James Shelton. There will be a celebration of Carl's life on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at Greater Saint Matthews Baptist Church, 6333 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas 77563. Officiated by Dr. Rev.
