Willetta Burleson Morgan Obituary (1960 - 2019)

Willetta Burleson Morgan was born in Galveston, Texas to Willie Burleson Sr. and Geraldine. She was the eldest of nine children in a blended family. After graduating Ball High School, she attended College of the Mainland and Texas Southern University to achieve a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science. After graduating college, she began teaching at Houston Independent School District. In her teaching tenure she delightfully educated elementary and middle school children. She married Marion Morgan in January 1988 and gave birth to two children, Christine and Christopher Morgan. Willetta had a passion for learning and life and her hobbies often included reading, studying arts and cooking. She was a faithful and dedicated servant of the Lord and mother. Willetta greatest joy was supporting her children in their studies and career fields. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Simpson Nash, maternal grandmother, Lucy Nash, paternal grandmother, Tera "Babe" Holman, brother, Reginald Burleson, paternal step-sister, Bridgett Burleson, father, Willie Burleson, Sr. She is survived by her mother, Geraldine Irving, step-father, Timothy Irving, siblings, Stacy Burleson, Gerald Irving, Corey Irving, adoptive sibling Rochelle Irving, Willie Burleson Jr., Elgin Burleson and Dylan Burleson, and two children, Christine Morgan and Christopher Morgan. Visitation will be Wednesday October 23, 2019 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City with Funeral Services to follow at 2:00pm.
