William Bradley Bessire passed away on March 1, 2021. Brad was born on January 28, 1953 in Texas City, Texas. He attended Texas City High School and joined the Pipefitters Union after graduation.
He spent his early career in that field and then in construction management. After retirement, Brad bought his dream lake home in Woodville, Texas where he loved to entertain family and friends, taking boat and golf cart rides, hot tubbing, building fires, cooking, and hanging out on the front porch. His constant companion was an Australian Shephard he named Bell. Brad and Bell moved back to Texas City in 2018.
After high school, Brad loved water skiing and spent many weekends at the Blue Hole on the dike with friends. Brad also made beautiful metal art, Christmas decorations, and anything else he put his mind to. As his brother Jeff reminded us, "Brad was a really talented artist, he could draw anything". But Brad's real passion was his family and friends. Nothing made him happier than being with his children and doting on his grandchildren who called him Pops. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and was always there for them with a listening ear, wise advice, and a helping hand.
To say that Brad was a man who marched to the beat of his own drum is an understatement, but those who danced to that beat were better for knowing him.
Brad is preceded in death by his parents, Harlin and Billie Bessire, and son, Blake Bessire.
Brad is survived by daughter, Ashley Jean Bessire; son, Chase Anthony Bessire; grandchildren, Cayden, Ava, Azlee, Adalyn, Rilynn; companion, Kim Hamilton Bessire; sister, Amy DeMott; brothers, Harley, Jeff, Bruce; and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
