Dickinson, Texas
William Dale Bost, age 65, of Dickinson, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
Born on August 24, 1960, Dale grew up in Texas City. He graduated from Texas City High School where he played baseball, and he proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps following graduation.
He was a devoted husband and father, but the role he treasured most was being “Papaw.” His grandchildren were truly the center of his world, and nothing brought him greater joy than being by their side. Whether sitting in the stands at baseball games, football games, or rodeos, Papaw was always there cheering them on. He enjoyed woodwork, and took pride in building things for his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed and looked forward to making Sunday dinner every week and was always trying new recipes.
He taught life lessons through his actions and made every moment with his family count. His life revolved around the people he loved most — his grandkids. He was the kind of Papaw every child hopes for; proud, protective, and always present. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and all who loved him.
He is survived by his wife Janet Bost; Daughters, Laura Ketenbrink (Austin) and Allison Lindsey (Robert); grandchildren, Jace, Shaylee, Addie, Sterling and Jett. He has two sisters Beverly Moton and Judy Michalak, and a brother Stephen Bost, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father William Dale Bost; his mother Josephine Bost; Grandparents Cecil & Opal Leigh; Aunt Lyndia Chambers; Great Grandmother Alma Hamrick.
A visitation/service to celebrate his life will be held on May 21, 2026 at Carnes Funeral home from 10:30-12:30, with a service starting at 11:30am. We will have a lunch reception afterwards at the VFW in Dickinson.
The family asks that in honor of his memory, you spend time with the people you love, cheer loudly at a ballgame, and never take the little moments for granted.
