W. Royce Scott, Jr.

W. Royce Scott, Jr, 73, of Tomball, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home
Tuesday, June 25, 2024. He was born in Warren, Ohio on March 29, 1951, to Willis
Royce Scott, Sr, and Lois Irene (Grimm) Scott who preceded him in death.

As he was growing up, he lived in various cities in Ohio, Boston, Massachusetts,
Michigan, and Illinois. He graduated from Howell High School in Howell, Michigan in
1969. He attended Olivet Nazarene College (now University) where he studied “having
way too much fun.”

Later he moved to the Houston, Texas area after having lived in Florida, Pennsylvania,
and Connecticut.

Royce enjoyed music, singing, and playing the guitar. Rain or shine, he walked every
morning. He also enjoyed theater and acted in many productions, including Ten Little
Indians, Oliver, Fiddler on the Roof, Arsenic and Old Lace, and Dancing at Lughnasa.

He is survived by his children, Rachelle (Seth) Hart, Renèe (Rene) Reyes, and Ryan
(Devin) Scott; and his children’s mother Ruth Sterling Scott; his grandchildren, Dylan
and Caleb Reyes, Sophia Hart, Abigail Scott and Yasmyne Anderson; sisters, Denise
(Roy) Shaffer, Myra (Ed) Richardson, and Deborah Berryhill.
